How much does it actually cost to park on Capitol Hill?

In the past three months, I've now parked on Capitol Hill a total of 20 times. Now that we've reached a nice round number, it's time to look at the numbers for the neighborhood and see how much it really costs to park there.

In my experience so far over 20 parkings logged, the overall average cost per hour of parking on Capitol Hill is.... $0.245 per hour. A little less than a quarter per hour.

In total, I've parked for 24.5 hours in Capitol Hill and paid a grand total of $6.02 for all of that. It takes me, on average, 1 minute and 25 seconds to find a spot and that spot is, on average 1.1 blocks away from where I am trying to go. If we take out the night during pride week where it took 15 minutes to find parking, the average is only 40 seconds to find a place to park.

Current Capitol Hill Averages:
Average Cost per Hour: $0.25
Total Cost for Parking: $6.02
Average Distance from Destination: 1.1 blocks (-0.06 blocks from average)
Average Time spent Searching for Parking: 1.41 minutes (+0.42 minutes/+25 seconds from average)
Total number of hours parked: 24.5
Total number of recorded parkings: 20

Curious about where I actually park? Here's a map that I created to the best of my recollection for each of the 20 parkings on Capitol Hill.
